CSBS Student Ambassadors

The 2011-2012 school year was a success for the CSBS student ambassadors, whose purpose is to increase student recruitment, philanthropy, and learning.

In the fall, the team recruited over 100 students to volunteer in the Legacy of Lowell Service Day—an annual community service project hosted by the Bennion Center.

In January, the ambassadors kicked off the student campaign with a showing of the critically acclaimed 2011 Sundance Film Miss Representation. The showing filled UMFA’s seats to capacity and brought in over $500 in cash and online donations to the Connections Scholarship Fund.

As the spring semester concluded, the ambassadors volunteered to help with the Bennion Center’s Project Youth—an event that brings around 700 Title I elementary school students to the U for a day full of interactive tours and demonstrations.

Ambassadors finished out the year by connecting with various students, faculty, and alumni of the college and discussing their experiences in CSBS. As the 2012-2013 school year approaches, we look forward to working with our newly selected team.
