Trafton Drew has been selected as the recipient of the Altman award. During his time at the U,
Irv Altman was well-respected and admired for being the complete scholar who excelled
in research, teaching, and service. He was (and continues to be) very generous with
his time as a mentor and trusted advisor for many of us. Trafton is an ideal recipient
of this award as a complete scholar. His research record in terms of publications
and grant support is very impressive and he has excelled as instructor, mentor, and
honors advisor. Congratulations to Trafton on this well-deserved recognition.
