Dr. Jacqueline Chen receives FABBS Award
Department of Psychology Associate Professor Jacqueline M. Chen was awarded the 2023 Kellina Craig-Henderson Early to Mid-Career Award from the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences (FABBS). The FABBS Awards for Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility – or IDEA Awards – recognize distinguished research, professional practice, and activities that advance these principles in the behavioral and brain sciences. The 2023 inaugural awardees were selected for their established track record of mentorship, outstanding scholarship that advances goals of IDEA, and significant advocacy or service impacts.
Dr. Chen is the principal investigator of the Social Cognition and Intergroup Perception (SCIP) Laboratory, which uses social psychological methods to investigate topics related to intergroup relations and diversity. Within the SCIP lab, Dr. Chen and her collaborators established the American Multiracial Faces Database (AMFD), a database of multiracial face photos that provides behavioral science researchers with more diverse stimuli and increases the representation of multiracial individuals in research.
