2017 Legislative ASUU Elections

dean cindy berg

Dear Students from the College of Social and Behavioral Science,

I am writing to encourage your participation in this year's legislative student government elections for ASUU. If you're looking to get more involved on campus, to have a stronger voice on where your student fees are spent, or to lead more student initiated efforts, ASUU is a great way to start!

Serving as a student Senator or Assembly member can be a defining college experience. As Senator, you get the unique opportunity to be your college's representative to the Academic Senate, one of our University's governing bodies. You also serve as the chair of your College Student Council, coordinating the Retention, Promotion, and Tenure processes, participating in college policy making, and debating on student bills. As an Assembly member, you gain the opportunity to debate and vote on the allocation of student fees, bills regarding student policies and government structure, and sit on committees that can make a difference in the student experience.

Legislative position filing has already begun for the upcoming academic year. I highly encourage you to run for these unique opportunities, as I know that the experiences and connections you make will be worthwhile.

The link to file for a legislative seat in ASUU is https://asuu.utah.edu/legislativefilingform? Applications due Friday, December 15.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the Deputy Elections Registrar Franco Jin at mfrancojin@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Dean Berg
