2025 Graduation Extravaganza Unites Students with Career Opportunities and Alumni Connections
The College of Social & Behavioral Science, College of Humanities, and School for Cultural and Social Transformation partnered to host the 2025 Graduation Extravaganza on Tuesday, March 25. This collaborative
event, made possible with support from the University of Utah Alumni Association and U Career Success, was designed to prepare students for graduation and set them on the path to professional
success.
“We are so proud of our graduating students and all they have achieved and are looking forward to celebrating this milestone with them,” says Wanda Pillow, dean of the College of Humanities and the School for Cultural & Social Transformation. “Holding this joint Graduation Extravaganza between our colleges reflects the collaborative learning environments where our students have thrived and prepared for the challenges of the world and the workplaces they will enter after graduation.”
Held under the theme "For Your Graduation Day & Beyond," students had the opportunity
to receive crucial graduation information, take professional headshots, pick up their
graduation cords, and connect with 21 community partners and employers who attended
the event, offering valuable networking opportunities and career exploration for future
graduates.
"Our commitment to collaboration reflects our dedication to student success—not just
at graduation, but as they step into their professional journeys," said Dean Michelle
M. Camacho of the College of Social and Behavioral Science. "By bringing together
our colleges and community partners, we are building a network of support that will
propel our graduates toward a bright and successful future."
By fostering connections between students and employers, the 2025 Graduation Extravaganza
exemplifies the University of Utah’s commitment to equipping graduates with the tools
and networks needed for success after college.
“We were excited to bring together our graduating students and key community employers for a great day of networking and career connections at the Graduation Extravaganza,” said Denise Decoite, Corporate Outreach Director for U Career Success. “It was amazing to see so many productive conversations happening—there were even a few interviews lined up on the spot. Events like this demonstrate the value of connecting our employer partners with our students. Employers get access to incredible talent, and our students are able to explore meaningful career opportunities. This event seems to get better and better each year!”
