Student Spotlight: Rodrigo Fernandez-Esquivias
Meet Rodrigo Fernandez-Esquivias, a 19-year-old sophomore majoring in political science. Fourteen years ago, Rodrigo’s parents moved him and his sister from Spain to the U.S., seeking greater opportunities. For Rodrigo, those opportunities have been made possible by the generosity of scholarship donors.
“My parents always told me that an education is the most important thing they can leave me with, and that wouldn’t be possible without the generous scholarships I’ve received,” Rodrigo shares.
Scholarships have not only allowed Rodrigo to attend college but also opened doors to transformative experiences. “Living on campus, finding a community of friends, and accessing campus resources have been some of my best experiences,” he explains.
This past summer, Rodrigo participated in a learning abroad program in Mexico, an enriching opportunity he attributes to donor support. “Thank you so much for helping me and my family be here today,” Rodrigo expresses with heartfelt gratitude.
